some dynamic VG not playing. Other dyn VG are ok

Post by knightr1der »

Hi Guys,

I have a system running g1.302.9 on Appliance servers and media gateways with GA boards.

There are many Dynamic VG recorded such as:

800 - 889 (various messages used for Premium Contact Centre). These all load up to GD or GA and play without any problem.
The problem is my 'Position in Q' guides as follows:

3228 + 3229 = fix1 + fix2
3322 - 3377 = Variable

None of these load up to the relevant GA board. Instead, when you do a vgstat they appear at the end against 'unknown'

I have tried to delete & re-create the assignment. I have de-selected and re-selected the message. No help.

I don't understand why the other dynamic recorded guides load up without problem but these ones do not? Can anyone help? Do I need to patch up to patch 12? or go even higher to 8.0.1?

Looks like you did not assign them to any language.

Dynamic voice guides with GA or GD? I don't think that would work.
I knew that for dynamic voice guides you need crystal GPA.

The only thing that loaded correctly on your GA or GD boards must be static 1 and 2 voice guides.

A lot has changed. :D Dynamis VGs work on GD also. Right in front of me is the Common Hardware system with CCD demo, with Position in Q' guides loaded as dynamic. By the way, docs for dynamis VGs management says
Before recording, each message must first be assigned to one or more boards (GD, GA, CPU6, GPA2, Z20V).

Thats interesting Alex...

Where do you assign the language?

VG 518 is the dynamic chained guide that has all the languages and the corresponding guides for fix1, fix2 and VAR. So I used the English set.

For Position in Q, Its not like when you recording a regular voice guide and then you have to create that VG and put the message number under Message 1 etc.. right?

Anyway, it did work on day 1 (April 2008) but since then a few system shutdowns have occurred

But like I say - my other Dynamic Guides work like a dream!

:D Yeah tested and it's ok. Don't remember from where I know that isn't possible. I'll look in older sys doc to see if this was different before.

What I have on my GD
+---------------+------+------+------+------+------+------+------+------+------+
UNKNOWN 11 925 933 941 949 957 965 973
UNKNOWN 981 989 997 1005 1013

So I go to mgr and create a VG 965 and assign which language it is
│ Message by language │
│ │
│ Message language 1 : 965 │
│ Message language 2 : -1 │
│ Message language 3 : -1 │
│ Message language 4 : -1 │
│ Message language 5 : -1 │
│ Message language 6 : -1 │
│ Message language 7 : -1 │
│ Message language 8 : -1 │

I checked. For position in queue i used static guides. But you know that it is just a way VGs are in a system. You can arrange dynamic VGs to be used as VG for position in a queue as soon as you know dynamic VG number.

Ah OK, so what you are saying is that you have used VG numbers of your own choice and not the ones that are preconfigured under VG 518.

Otherwise you know under SYSTEM > Voice Guides > you cannot create a number higher that 2000!

That's true.

Sure system uses 518 but in /System/Voice Guide/Dynamic VG/518 you program which messages are played as fix and as variable part.

Knight, you in fact dont have to program the fixed maeesages as Voice guides, just need the 3228 + 3229 = fix1 + fix2
3322 - 3377 = Variable

3228,3229 and so on configured under Dynaic Voie guides, record a guide and VG 518 will take are of the rest of it.

You do in fct have to set you Segment to the sam elanguage as you have set in the message setting.

Hope this helps
