Modem connection

Post by sundancekid1977 »

I am facing a problem connecting the SS-40 Rev 4 MODEM BUFFER to the OmniPCX Enterprise. I have configured the modem as an analog extension and assigned a DID number to it. When someone dials the number, the handshake is not taking place. Is there any other configuration i need to do in the system to detect the modem? please advise me what has to be done.

Check cadence for external ringing. Some modems do not detect cadenced ringing - ring phase may be short, or if there is short ring after long ring.
Like this:

. ________ _
__| long ring|__| |___

Try this - connect analog phone and listen what ringing is actually and:
- increase ring time
- delete short ring.

Or try to change modem setting "distinctive ring" (type of ring - single/double).
