ISDN2 congestion issue

Post by macdee »

Hi all,

I have an issue that I hope someone may help with.

I look after several customer branches who use ISDN2 via mixed cards on an oxe box. Every now and again one of the channels has a fault. When looking at the channel via TRKSTAT it shows as free yet the customer gets congestion as if busy. One way to fix this is for BT to perform a tier 2 reset. Unfortunately this is repleatedly required which is not ideal.

Has anyone seen this issue before and know the fix?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Macdee.

Is it a real ISDN2 of a ISDN2 interface on for instance a dsl connection.... I had the same problem... replaced the dsl with a real isdn2 and it solved the problem.... Is synchronisation set SHELF > BOARD > DIGITAL ACCES ... set to 200 (or something simular..) check by using the infocs command

Hi Stafan,

Thanks for your reply.
The ISDN2 is a real ISDN2. Synchronisation is set to 210 on all branches. Is this ok?
Thanks again for your help.

Kind regards,

Macdee

Hi,

Is the CPU crystal hardware or is it an appliance server.
If Appliance then sync priorities management is 200 or above.
If crystal then try with 10 or above.

Hi boora,

Thanks for your reply. The ISDN2 is on common hardware (small and large). The syncronisation is set on all to 210.

Thanks again,

Macdee.

Hi,

You may check with the service provider what sort of sync priorities they are managing at their end and try to match the same.

maybe your 'country protocol' try 'ISDN all countries', 'default' or 'your own country'. See if that helps it clear down properly.

Hi all,

Apologies for resurecting an old thread however we have the exact same issue and was wondering if there was any other tips we could try?

We're on Enterprise v10 (though have had this issue on previous versions too) with applicance servers in our head office and remote shelves at branches across the UK. Like the OP we have to get BT to do a tier two reset to clear the fault. We've tried various things including:
* outserv/ inserv on the ISDN channels on the affected shelf.
* setting access 0 as priority 210, access 1 as 211, access 2 as 212 etc.
* changing the accesses to 255 and then back to 210 in order of access i.e. beginning from 0 and working up.

It only affects ISDN2 branches - we do have some larger sites which use ISDN30 and they never suffer from this problem.
Have looked at different ISDN options during the config stage but are limited to ISDN France or ISDN all countries.

Any other suggestions?
Cheers
Tony

Hi,

Hoping this is where you mean (shelf, board, mix card, digital access and then access 0 in this case but same for others)?:

T0/T2 Access No - 0
Access Type - T0
Board Type - MG-MIX (BRA 4, UAI 8, SLI 4)
Synchronisation Priority - 210
Network mode - No
Max NB of Used B channels - 2
Max_Nb_Of_Compressed_B_Channels - 0
TieLine Mode - No
Access Type S0 - No
Reserved1 - Yes
Reserved2 - No
Network Data Time Update - No

Let me know if not what you mean.

Cheers
