Hi, need help in understanding different CPU`s (CPU5,CPU6...) board, What are they for and in which configuration different CPU`s are used??
Thanks

Red baner - top right corner - load doc and read chapter with hardware description.

We are not here to repeat what documentation already states sinner.

I really suggest you to load doc (R5.1) and read chapter "Hardware doc/ Electronic board/ ACT board".
Because may be next your question will be about NPRAE or another board. From my point of view - you need to know where find info about this boards. If you will have questions after reading documentation - in this case I will try to help you.
But simple copy/paste from doc - not for me. Sorry, may be I not right.

it is not up to us to decide which CPU to use for different configurations. Alcatel have created a PC based tool called ACTIS in which you put in your requirements and it turns that in to a list of hardware including CPU type. Sheer Magic!

All these years it has worked without problem (just look at the amount of posts in the ACTIS forum). The main problem everyone faces is the bugs in the application code that runs on those CPU's.

Like the guys have said, the documents will tell you EVERYTHING about them. But if you don't want to read them, then see if this helps;

CPU2 = only used by tot3, VAD & Cav now as a dinner plate & foot scrub  Sometimes Frank (God of AlcatelUnleashed) uses them to throw at Cavagnaro

CPU3 = Used in Crystal Hardware Chassis - now obsolete (but still many out there in active service) used in basic environments where there is not much demand on CPU.

CPU5 = Used in Crystal Hardware Chassis - now obsolete (but still many out there in active service) used in CPU intensive environments such as CSTA support as well as basic telephony handling

CPU6 = Used in Crystal Hardware Chassis - replaced the CPU3

CPU7 = Used in Crystal Hardware Chassis - replaced the CPU5

CS = used in Common hardware chassis

AS = 1U rack mountable HP server - very high performance and used in large and CPU intensive environments

Also:

CPU-2 for common hardware replaces now CPU board for the same type of hardware.

OK, then another dumb question.
What's the diff in CPU and CPU2? GD/GA and GD3/GA3? Hardware and capabilities? When do I need to replace one to another? This is not covered in docs.

The main difference is the power of the CPU.
This is covered in software release TC or compatibility matrix TC.

More or less the following are true:
GD, GA, OXO CPU1,2,3m, OXE CS are the same board.
GD2, GA2, OXO CPU-4 are the same board.
GD3, GA3, OXE CS-2, OXO PowerCPU

Nothing there except ARMADA description and compatibility list.
I'm running R9.1 on CS (cpu1e), GD, GA with two MADA3s and just want to know the hardware diff and limits.
