Got output on VMWare console (No Piped Proxy Needed)

Post by johank_DUP »

Well, You still need Piped proxy to do the initial installation of the Call Server.

I am running VM Ware Server Console Ver. 1.0.4 build-56528

Once the CPU has booted up (You don't have to start RUNTEL) do the following:

Login as root (su) and use a text editor like "vi"
Modify the following files: menu.lst & inittab

[root@xa001001 mtcl]# vi /boot/grub/menu.lst
[root@xa001001 mtcl]# vi /etc/inittab

{ Using "vi" editor:
- Use Enter to scroll down
- "space" to move sideways
- "i" to start edit on text
- "esc" key to stop edit
- Shift-Q to enter "save/exit" mode
in "save/exit" mode - "w" to wright/save
- "q" to quit }

To look like these Egsamples:

(E)xa001001> more /etc/inittab
#
# inittab This file describes how the INIT process should set up
# the system in a certain run-level.
#
# Author: Miquel van Smoorenburg, <miquels@drinkel.nl.mugnet.org>
# Modified for RHS Linux by Marc Ewing and Donnie Barnes
#

# Default runlevel. The runlevels used by RHS are:
# 0 - halt (Do NOT set initdefault to this)
# 1 - Single user mode
# 2 - Multiuser, without NFS (The same as 3, if you do not have networkin
g)
# 3 - Full multiuser mode
# 4 - unused
# 5 - X11
# 6 - reboot (Do NOT set initdefault to this)

There's a much easier way to do this! Install OXE as a blade server!
