mastercopy

Post by patmul39 »

hi wizzy, during the mastercopy the database on the main cpu "freezes". The system functions as normal but all telephone set features are inhibited during the copy. Example forwards, key programming and in your case (call centre) agents would not be allowed to withdraw, log off, log in, etc. A mastercopy is a copy so the system mirrors the current status of the db, including set status. Calls are not affected.

Well I made the following test

During the mastercopy I made an agent log on. When the mastercopy finished an the stand by CPU became ready, I loged off the agent and I got a MAO error incident

Did you try to use the command "mao off"? It prevents changes to the database like setting a forward. During the saving of a databse with swinst also no changes to the database are possible because the mao is turned off.

After the end of mastercopy you have to use "mao on". You should check the status of mao with the command "mao -a" on BOTH CPUs.

From what I remember, an agent cannot login/logoff while mastercopy is running, as the mao agent is off. What release are you using ?

During mastercopy no change on the PBX is possible, including change of state of the agents.
