Record call?
I'm looking for a simple way for my users to record calls. I'm guessing that probably the only way is to record to voice mail (4645). How do you do this? Is there a key? Is there a sequence I need to dial?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Just keep track of the size of this recording project.KodaK wrote:I'm looking for a simple way for my users to record calls. I'm guessing that probably the only way is to record to voice mail (4645). How do you do this? Is there a key? Is there a sequence I need to dial?

My own experience (not on Alcatel - but Avaya in this matter) started with a request to record "some calls" for "some people" - we ended up with 400 people in CCS recording all calls - which made the VM to malfunction.
This might eat resources, so proceed with care.
If you want to lift the recording from the voiceplatform, you can use recording adapter from handset to users desktop pc, and use for instance the "Dictation Buddy" app. this will leave mp3 files on the users PC/a share - so they have the option to decide on what to submit use if this is for training purposes. etc.
You dont want the VM to be a fileserver........

The best solution for Alcatel is a software called GENESIS (not to be confused with genesYs) which works on Apple Mac Os X (X-SERVE) and can keep up to 2,5 years of conversations !!!! The client run on Windows.
If you want more informations, let me know, and I'll find the web site.
It's the best solution I ever found right now.

Store recorded messages from voicemail
There is also an easy way to store the recorded messages using a cheap Alcatel solution.
Just use IMAP with 4645.
That way you can receive all recorded messages on the pc of the users and delete the ones you don't want to keep.
I hope this can help you.
